Leaf peeping in Manchester, NH?

Some like the White Mountains. Others prefer the Berkshires or the Green Mountains. But when it comes to leaf peeping in New England, I like the center city of Manchester, NH.

Specifically, I like the four-block stretch of Pine Street between Valley and Auburn streets, otherwise known as Valley Cemetery. As Columbus Day weekend approaches each October, I make it a point to drive or walk these blocks as often as I can. The cemetery is full of maples, which this time of year produce an explosion of color, color that seems all the more vibrant when cast against bright blue autmnal skies, as were seen yesterday morning:

Beautiful.
