Smile, you could be on radar

Sometimes I drive down Lake Avenue just to see the bright, yellow-green traffic signs. They never fail to elicit a chuckle.

 

Like the Burma-Shave ads of old, these snarky signs follow one another down Lake Avenue and then back up Spruce Street, warning motorists of the consequences of exceeding the speed limit. In sequential order drivers see:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The signs are the brainchild of Ward 5 Alderman and hair replacement entrepreneur Ed Osborne.

 

Well done, sir.

There are few other signs that would make me feel more vindictive as a motorist.
